2017 Walkathon for South City Community School

Dear Friends, Family, and St. Louis Neighbors,

As South City Community School enters its eighth year, we are thankful to those who have been a part of building a school that changes the lives of children through quality education and nurturing relationships. This fall, we have welcomed our largest student body to date—161 children from preschool to middle school! Our mission is to cultivate a lifelong love of learning in each one.

SCCS receives no public dollars, yet 64% of our students receive financial aid. We make a private education—a rich curriculum, small class size, and a nurturing atmosphere—accessible to many for whom it would otherwise be out of reach, thanks to generous donors. Our annual Walkathon in November—a 5K walk and/or fun run in Tower Grove Park—is an opportunity for local St. Louis businesses, neighbors, friends, and family to become part of our story.

You can:

  • Register to walk
  • Sponsor a walker with your donation
  • Donate a raffle prize
  • Donate food for the event day
  • Make a general donation (see below)

Last year our Walkathon raised over $40,000 dollars. That money went directly into our annual fund, supporting both scholarships for students and teachers’ salaries. This year, our goal is to raise $50,000

With your help, we will have another successful Walkathon, and, more importantly, another successful school year!
